| 26/08/1973: Chinese artists will paint hall frescoes |
| Three renowned artists from China Messrs. Ai Chung Yun-Cheng have arrived in the island to attend to the painting working of the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, considered to be the largest construction project under way, in south East Asia. The hall is scheduled to be opened in May, 1973. |

The three artists will be primarily concerned with the work of the frescoes intended for the decoration of the main hall as well as the entrance lobby.
These frescoes will depict a variety of local scenes and the sketch of the chief mural 25 ft. by 10 ft. that will adorn the walls of the main hall was approved by the Prime Minister, Mrs. Sirimavo Bandaranaike, when she was in China recently.
